Mental Health and Wellbeing
Children's Mental Health and Well being
At St Mary of the Angels, we help children to manage their mental health through daily well being activities.
We have a whole school approach to supporting children's mental health and all children are encouraged to recognise their emotions and talk about how they are feeling.
We encourage children to use strategies including counting to ten, breathing exercises and listening to calming music to help them to calm down and regulate their emotions.
Through resilience interventions, in each class, pupils are taught how to manage distractions, develop friendships and not dwell on things they cannot change. They also research different role models and how they were resilient to achieve their goals.
During Children's Mental Health week, all children take part in activities focusing on a particular theme. This year the theme is "Let's Connect".
Please read the newsletter attached for ways you , as parents, can support your child's mental health.
